Going Beyond for Biodiversity
Our plan to protect, restore and regenerate nature.
Building on our pledge to become climate positive by 2040, today we announce our plan to take action to protect, restore and regenerate nature as part of the fight against the climate crisis.
Thanks to our founder Thomas Burberry, an affinity with nature and the outdoors has been at the foundation of our company from the very beginning. By helping to build a more sustainable future for luxury, we are working to rebalance the ecosystems that support the lands and communities that we hold close to our heart. To do this, we will be expanding the scope of our current initiatives, taking a nature-based approach both in our own practices and in areas of greatest need beyond our operations. We are channelling our efforts through three focus areas:
Minimising negative environmental impacts and supporting projects through the Burberry Regeneration Fund.

Applying regenerative and holistic land management practices to grazing and farming.
Intensifying existing efforts around certifications and training where we source our raw materials.

Meaningful Partnerships
As we amplify our efforts globally, we understand that we need to collaborate with environmental leaders to make the largest possible impact. Our active participation in The Fashion Pact and UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action has allowed us to accelerate solutions and drive change, whilst our key partnership with Land to Market at the Savory Institute will help to facilitate the regeneration of grasslands in the leather supply chain and the livelihoods of their inhabitants. Beyond this, we are the first luxury brand to sign up to the LEAF Coalition with an investment in providing financial aid to countries committed to making ambitious reductions in tropical deforestation.
We will also be engaging with experts such as The Biodiversity Consultancy to enable us to better understand the science as it evolves.
These programmes will play an important part in global regeneration and conservation efforts, as we continue to be a force for positive change and go beyond, for better.
